If you’re a long-time blog reader of ours, you know that Jenn and her hubby (Chris) have been in the process of adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia for over 2 years (if you’re just joining us, check out Jenn’s personal blog to read all about their journey: www.pureandlasting.com). Jenn has some re-he-he-eally exciting adoption news to share with all of you… but for now, I’m going to leave you in suspense (I will leave the fun part to Jenn!) In the meantime, here are a few photos from the baby shower we threw her a few weeks ago.

Sada and I were in charge of the baby shower decor… so we chose our mutually favorite color scheme: yellow and grey. Yes, these colors are “gender neutral” and we already know that Jenn and Chris are adopting a little girl… but c’mon… it’s yellow and grey! This was the first baby shower I’ve ever thrown and Jenn happens to be the party-decorating queen… so I wanted to make her proud. :-) I went a teensy bit crazy with the color scheme… insisting that all of the food had to match it. Ha! Try thinking of yellow/white/grey foods… not easy. Ha!

Remember that yellow corner hutch I refinished last year (see the before and afters here). Anyhoo, it fit right into the baby shower color scheme and was a perfect place to display photos of little Maya (lots more Maya photos coming soon!)

Bring on the baby gifts! Baby booties, books, bedding, clothes (lots and LOTS of clothes!)…it was all there! :-)

I love this photo! Sada, Jenn and me… The whole Bend The Light team. :-) Pretty sure this is the first photo EVER of all 3 of us together (it’s rare that all THREE of us step out from behind the camera at the same time.) Also, check out the flag banner in the background. Told you I was crazy about putting the colors EVERYWHERE! ;-)
