roque & daniel {jw marriott san antonio wedding & reception}

It’s no secret that we get to work with some of the most amazing couples on the planet. Roque & Daniel are no exception to that rule. In fact, they are one of the sweetest, most genuine couples ever. Like, ever ever ever. :-)  We first met Roque (and her awesome mom, Francine!) almost a year ago. When we left the meeting, Jenn and I both said “I really really LIKED them! They are so sweet!” Roque and her mom are really close, and their relationship reminded me of the one I have with my own mom, so they immediately felt like family. :-)

In the months to come, Jenn shot Roque & Daniel’s engagement session… at that point, we realized how ridiculously cute Roque & Daniel were together… all of our clients started calling: “I want my engagement photos to look like that! Can I steal some of their prop ideas? I love that session!” Fast forward to their wedding weekend – we couldn’t have been more excited. A sweet couple, major ability to work it in front of the camera, and a brand new, gorgeous venue – having their wedding and reception at The JW Marriott Resort and Spa. These are the things that photographer’s dreams are made of. :-)

There was one little kink in our “photog dream,” though. It rained on Roque’s wedding day. And when I say rained, I mean it raaaained. The outdoor ceremony was moved indoors and our outdoor photos were scratched from the plan. So get ready for something you don’t see too often from us… fun INDOOR portraits! (turns out, Roque and Daniel can work the camera no matter where they are)  :-D Here are our favorites from the day. Enjoy. :-)

OK, this is where Roque and Daniel go from being awesome to being awesomer (I’m making up my own word for them because…..) After the ceremony, they decided, raining or not, they were going outside for some photos. You can’t tell in these next few shots, but it was drizzling the whole time we were shooting Roque & Daniel together. Did they care? Nope. And now they have amazing photos to show for it. Roque & Daniel, you guys rock.

Roque and Daniel had 2 special drinks for their cocktail hour. Above left: The red drink was called a Mrs. Martini. Below: A Mr. Martini. FUN!  And another fun detail (above right)… Roque and Daniel’s wedding favors! A bottle of red or white wine for each guest to take home.
These are a few shots from Roque and Daniel’s first dance. They danced to “Everything” by Michael Buble… as you can see, Daniel sang nearly every word to Roque. You two are ridiculously cute. :-)I’ve been to a LOT of weddings over the years, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a group of guests dance as much as Roque & Daniel’s guests. The party lasted for HOURS and I’m not sure anyone ever sat down. The dance floor (as you can see) was packed all night!!
