Michelle + Travis {Remi's Ridge at Hidden Falls Wedding Ceremony & Wedding Reception, Spring Branch TX} • Bend The Light

There are many things that make a wedding special and memorable. There is gorgeous decor, an amazing venue, perfectly tailored attire and meticulously designed florals. There is also tears of joy, the squeeze of a hand during a prayer, the release of a gasp at the sight of your little girl becoming a wife, and the moments shared with people who truly know you and love you deeply. Michelle and Travis’ day was filled with all of the pretty things, but I will remember it because of all of the sweet moments that will forever be cherished memories.

One of my favorite parts of their day was meeting and watching Michelle’s 91 year old grandma who still lives on her farm in a small town and volunteers at the local elderly home. As she peeked around the corner in the getting ready room and saw a glimpse of Michelle in her wedding gown, her eyes sparkled and her smile lit up the room. Later in the evening she gave the longest, cutest speech at the reception, telling stories of her husband and sharing with everyone that they must read the book Love Does by Bob Goff (more on that in a minute!). I also captured my favorite dancing photo of all time when I snuck behind her grandmother to capture the reactions of the family members dancing with her. She was raising her hands and getting down. I was at just the right spot when she did a little spin. She quickly put up her hands in a playful roar stance and then shooed me away with a smile, saying, “I didn’t know you were there!!!” It was perfection! You will find the photo toward the end of this post.

Michelle’s mom, Judy, is the sweetest mother of the bride I have ever met. She was constantly checking in, not only with Michelle and her bridesmaids, but with us and all of the vendors. She stopped by the room we were in as we were scarfing down our dinners to say a sincere thank you for the work we had done that day. She asked if we had read the book Love Does that her mother talked about earlier in the evening. When I replied that I had not, she immediately promised to send it to me and it has already arrived in the mail!!! I cannot wait to read every page. Michelle, Travis, and their kind and generous family and friends are a testament to love truly being an action.

Before the ceremony, Travis and Michelle held hands around a corner as he prayed over their day and their future. It was such a sweet moment to witness. The tears of complete joy fell down both of their cheeks as their eyes met down the aisle. Throughout the day, everyone was full of joy, happiness and love for Travis and Michelle and this beginning of a new life together. It was a privilege to be invited into your day and into your lives. Thank you both and congratulations!!
