krista + michael {becker vineyards wedding & reception, fredericksburg & stonewall texas}

You may remember Krista & Michael’s sweet, country engagement session from a few months back. Their wedding had that same Texas charm. :-) Their wedding ceremony and reception were held at Becker Vineyards in Fredericksburg, TX (one of our all-time favorite venues!)

If I’ve learned anything from living in Texas my whole life, it’s this: the Texas weather is completely unpredictable! Krista & Michael planned an outdoor wedding in mid-March (sounds like a safe bet, right? We thought so too!)… but the weather had other ideas. :-) Lets just say that if rain on your wedding day means good luck, Krista and Michael are VERY lucky people! :-) To top it off, it was freakishly cold outside… but Krista and Michael didn’t let that get them down. Nope, not at all. They laughed and had a blast! Michael even danced in the rain during their photo time (more on that later!) Here are our favorites from their big day. Enjoy! :-)

Krista & Michael’s ceremony was later in the day, so it was almost dark by the time the ceremony/family photos were finished. Because they wanted lots of natural-light portraits (and we got lots of those!!), they saw each other before the ceremony. We love first looks! It’s such a sweet, intimate moment between the bride and groom where they can have a few minutes of alone time and calm their nerves. :-) The photos above are a few shots from the moment Krista & Michael first saw each other. One of our tips for getting the best possible wedding photos is this: Don’t stress the dress! (To see all of our tips, click here) Krista & Michael are the perfect example of how this tip can pay off. As I mentioned earlier, it rained for most of the day. These two were such great sports… they weren’t phased by the falling rain or the wet ground. The bottom of Krista’s dress was a little wet when all was said and done, but because she was so easy going and didn’t sweat the small stuff, they now have tons of amazing bride/groom photos. Krista & Michael, you guys rock!! :-D
BTW: Some days I am in the mood for lots of black and white images. Today is definitely one of those days. :-) Krista & Michael will get both versions (black/white and color) of each shot… but for today, get ready for a black/white overdose. ;-)
Oh, Becker Vineyards. How we love your “barrel room” full of barrels of wine. :-) I love these two shots, taken by Sada (our associate photographer). In fact, LOTS of the photos in this post were taken by Sada. Isn’t she awesome? We think so too :-)
Krista & Michael originally planned for their wedding ceremony to happen outside… but because of the tricky Texas weather, they were married inside the gorgeous Lavender Haus at Becker Vineyards. Not bad for plan B, eh? Not bad at all. :-)
