A few weekends ago, we took a mini family vacation to The Exotic Zoo Resort in Johnson City, TX. We reserved 2 log cabins at the resort (or should I say zoo?) Our cabins were smack in the middle of 100s of wild animals, running free on 300 acres of the Texas hill country. It was AMAZING, to say the least. Not only did I get some much-needed R&R, but I woke up each morning to camels, ostriches, deer, buffalo, and kangaroo right outside my window. It was the coolest experience. All 8 of us (ranging in age from 3 to 85) had a blast. We haven’t been able to stop talking about it since we got back. Here are some of my faves from the weekend. Enjoy :)

The view from my front porch. My parents’ cabin is on the left.
Gotta love “camping” burgers!!

As you can see, my brother had a special bond with one of the donkeys. How cute are they? ha!

My grandma hates pictures. She won’t smile for the camera to save her life. She usually turns away when she sees my camera… but that doesn’t stop me from snapping photos anyway. :)
My grandpa turned 85 this year. Isn’t he handsome? :)
How many people can say they’ve been chased by a camel AND a llama at the same time? (I raise my hand)
Sally the Camel saying “cheese” for me. :)
My mom will kill me for posting this pic of her in her moo-moo dress AND jeans AND jacket. I love you, mom. :)
No one was around to take a photo of me with the camel, so I took one myself. :)
My hump. My hump. My lovely camel hump. :)
The view from my porch at sunset.
See… I told you my grandma won’t smile for the camera. Don’t worry, gma. I love you anyway. :)
