cannon family photos

Matt and Danielle’s family is growing again. It is such a cool part of my job to see families as they grow and change. We did a maternity shoot for Danielle and Matt when they were expecting the adorable Berkley. Here are my favorites form their session.

When a toddler is involved, large portions of the session look like this. :)I LOVE the photo on the left. True family fun :)

claire & lorenzo’s engagement photos

Meet Claire and Lorenzo. They are cute, fun and colorful. I met up with them in the heart of downtown San Antonio and we just wandered. I love this city and all the color it brings. Here are my favorites from their session.

jim + mariela {san fernando cathedral wedding ceremony, mcnay art museum wedding reception}

Jim & Mariela’s wedding ceremony was held at the gorgeous San Fernando Cathedral in downtown San Antonio. Their wedding reception took place at the McNay Art Museum… two amazing venues and one totally-in-love (not to mention ridiculously-good-looking) couple. :-) Here are our favorites from their big day… we’ll start with a shot of the city from Jim’s downtown hotel room. (Can you spot the San Fernando Cathedral?)
When you can’t choose a favorite wedding gown, what do you do?! Get both, of course! :-)
Mariela wore the dress on the left during the ceremony and the one on the right for the reception.
On the way to the ceremony!
Love this shot that our associate photographer (Sada) took as Mariela was waiting to walk down the aisle. *Chills*
Here comes the bride! :-D
San Fernando Cathedral = total gorgeousness. :-)
I couldn’t choose between the shot above and the shot below.. so I’m including one in color and one in black and white. Which do you like best?
Another amazing shot by Sada!
Introducing dress #2! We took photos of Jim & Mariela outside of San Fernando Cathedral (when she was wearing dress #1), and then headed to The McNay Art Museum (where the reception was held) for photos in dress #2. Which dress is your fave?
The cocktail hour was held in the McNay courtyard (above) and the main wedding reception was held in the McNay ballroom (below). Planning a cocktail hour (in a different room/location from your reception area) is the best way to ensure we’ll be able to take photos of your place settings, center pieces, etc. before your reception area is full of guests. Kaylinn took photos of the cocktail hour while Jenn & Sada captured several amazing shots of the reception ballroom (below). For more tips about how to plan a photo-friendly wedding, click here!
We love love LOVED the uplighting that Jim & Mariela had at their reception!! Having your reception lighting professionally done adds so much to your photos and to the atmosphere of the room. For more info about why we suggest professional lighting, click here!
Couldn’t decide which ring shot was my favorite, so I’m including them both. :-) Which do YOU like best?

Jim & Mariela, congrats on being the new Mr. & Mrs. Hession!

happy 3 year anniversary to us!

Three years ago last week, I married the love of my life. In the last three years, we have traveled all over the world, grown our small businesses, made our house a home, loved on children in Africa, and heard God calling us to more, all while falling more in love with each other. Chris is truly my partner and my friend. When I stop to think about this life we are living, I am overwhelmed with just how blessed I am. I have a feeling it is only going to get better.

carolyn & brian’s flushmount album AND parent album!

Carolyn & Brian’s flushmount album just arrived (along with the parent album they ordered for Carolyn’s mom)!

The leather on the flushmount album is called “Komodo Dragon” and is quickly becoming our most popular flushmount leather option. Carolyn & Brian also added a photo cutout to the front cover and TA-DA! …A custom album cover that fits their personal style. :-)

But who can forget about Carolyn’s MOM’S personal style? :-) She now has her very own duplicate album. A parent album is a smaller version of a flushmount wedding album. Even though the photos and page designs are the same, the outside cover (and cover photo) can be customized to match your parents (or grandparents!) personal style. Red is Carolyn’s mom’s favorite color…so naturally, they chose the leather called “Candyland.”

We custom-design each and every layout in our flushmount albums. This layout includes 3 gigantic photos of Brian & Carolyn together (3 of their favorite shots) To view aflushmount album layout (from start to finish), click here.

We design flushmount albums to tell the story of the entire day. From getting ready to the grand exit. This layout features Carolyn’s bridesmaids. The beauty of the custom-designed pages is that some pages have lots of photos (above), and others have one big photo that spreads all the way across (below).
My favorite favorite FAVORITE page! A huge panoramic shot of Brian & Carolyn’s amazing sunset ceremony. And as you can see below, flushmount albums lay completely flat, so there’s no seam in the middle. Yep. Pretty awesome. :-)

Carolyn Marez Phelt - Kaylinn & Jenn,

Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us. Brian & I feel so blessed that both of you were a part of our wedding. Your work is absolutely stunning & amazing. We can’t wait to work with both of you again!!
