jeff + mara {starhill ranch wedding & reception, austin tx}

Any time we post a wedding on the blog, I’m excited… but I’m especially excited to post these images. Jeff and Mara’s wedding (and reception!) was held at the beeeeautiful Star Hill Ranch in Austin, Texas. A laid back ranch that oozes with Texas charm. Complete with wild west wagons, a little white chapel and an old/rusty gas pump in front of the groom’s house. :-) We loved every Texan detail. Here are our favorites from their wedding day. Check out the inside of the “groom’s quarters”… made up to look like an old west bar. I love this shot of Jeff writing a sweet note to Mara’s parents before the ceremony.

What’s the perfect way to say “Here comes the bride,” you ask? How about a bag piper piping the bride all the way from her “getting ready house” into the little white chapel and down the aisle? Yes, I’d say that’s just about perfect. :-)
Mara & Jeff didn’t have a traditional bridal party… instead, they had their parents stand beside them during the ceremony. Sweetest. Idea. Ever.
Jeff and Mara planned a photo-friendly timeline that allowed lots of time for fun bride & groom portraits, so we ran around the ranch and got lots of fun shots. Our favorites are below! (To read more tips/suggestions about how to plan a photo-friendly wedding, click here)

BTW, totally diggin that Jeff skipped the black tux and wore a tan suit and striped tie from J-Crew. Sooo 2011. :-)

Mara is a nurse, so each table had a different nurse book cover on it. Who knew there were so many vintage books about nurses?
Jeff and Mara brew their own beer, so ta-da! A perfectly appropriate ring shot. :-)
Or do I like this bottle cap ring shot better? Hmm… I can’t decide.
