Christine + Rene {San Fernando Cathedral Wedding Ceremony, La Cantera Resort Wedding Reception, San Antonio TX}

I’ve been looking forward to Christine and Rene’s San Fernando Cathedral wedding (and La Cantera Resort wedding reception!!) since bonding over our love for John Mayer, fashion, and the magic of golden hour lighting at their engagement session. From the beginning, they felt like old friends. The conversation was effortless and the laughs continuous.

Christine and Rene met in high school. Their relationship began as a friendship as they worked closely together in various organizations. Then one day, something was different. It clicked for Rene that he wanted more. They started dating when they were 16 years old and have been a couple for 12 years, including a time of long-distance dating while Christine finished medical school in Puerto Rico.

I arrived to Christine’s room at the La Cantera Resort to a table of perfectly placed wedding details and beautiful ladies in matching robes buzzing around. Before I even stepped inside the room, I could feel the excitement. Their entire day was filled with thoughtful details, both beautiful and personal. My favorite part of the day was watching Christine’s parents watch her get ready (see below!) The moment between her and her dad as he saw his baby girl as a bride was so precious. I will never get tired of being invited into these special moments.

After some fun (and confetti!!) at the La Cantera Resort, the festivities moved to downtown San Antonio for their gorgeous San Fernando Cathedral wedding ceremony. Rene could not keep his eyes off of his bride. I loved playing with Christine’s cathedral-length veil during their wedding portraits in front of the gorgeous cathedral.

Beyond the visual beauty of the day was the beauty of the love and care the Christine and Rene have for each other and for those around them. Throughout the day, they both made sure that those around them were enjoying the day as much as they were. It speaks so much of who they are as people, kind, generous and overflowing with love. Thank you Christine and Rene for sharing your love and laughter with all of us. Congratulations!!!
