Annie + Matt {Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort Wedding Ceremony & Reception}

Ever watched an amazing proposal on YouTube and wished you could go to the wedding? We have too. :-) Which is why we were ridiculously excited when Annie and Matt asked us to photograph their wedding.

We were one of the kabillion people that watched Matt propose to Annie when the video went viral last year. An Olympic swimmer proposing ON the podium after receiving a gold medal? Um… yes! In case you missed it, check out Matt’s AHHHHMAZING proposal (and Annie’s awesome reaction!) here:

BEST proposal ever, right?! Told you so. Annie told me that she allllmost passed out when Matt got down on one knee. I’ve watched it a few times now and it still makes me smile. :-) I remember thinking “If the wedding is as sweet as the proposal, it’s gonna be amazing.” After the proposal we watched Matt win the gold at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Fast forward to last October. Annie called us and said she wanted us to shoot their wedding. Ahhh! We’re suckers for amazing proposals and sweet love stories… so our response was easy. “We would love to shoot your wedding. Duh.” ;-)

After working with these two, we found that they are the sweetest, most down-to-earth couple you could ever meet. More than anything else, what stood out to us was how much LOVE Annie and Matt have for each other. Almost like a couple that’s been married for 50 years. :-) Solid, REAL love (the kind that makes you jealous if you don’t have it. Ha!) :-) The wedding was just as perfect as the proposal… maybe even more so. :-) Annie and Matt, we were so honored to be able to capture these moments for you. It’s easy to miss… but check out Annie’s dad in this shot (above), just moments before giving his daughter away. Annie’s dad was one of the most genuine, most caring dads we’ve met in all of our years as wedding photogs. In fact, both Matt and Annie’s families made us feel so welcome. This shot makes my heart happy. :-)
Annie & Matt’s wedding ceremony and reception took place at the GORGEOUS Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort here in San Antonio.
I’m assuming she was shooting photos AND video at the same time. A future wedding photog, I’m sure of it. :-)
