If you’ve driven on a Texas highway in the last 2 weeks, chances are you’ve had to swerve around a few of those crazy families… the ones parked on the shoulder of the freeway taking “blue bonnet” photos. Even though we’re all annoyed with the traffic hazard, those of us who grew up in Texas will tell you… it’s just something you gotta do. :) And, if you’re like me, your family albums have their fair share of traffic-hazard-blue-bonnet photos. :) Here’s one of me and my brother back in the day…

I’m not gonna lie… when my mom asked me to take Annie (my niece) out for a few blue bonnet photos… I wasn’t thrilled. “I’m a creative, think-outside-the-box photographer,” I thought. “There is nothing creative or original about blue bonnet photos. How can I put my own spin on that?” The more I thought about it, the more I realized Annie can’t officially call herself a Texas kid until she has a few blue bonnet photos in our family album. Sooo… yesterday evening, if you were driving on 1604 at around 7pm, chances are you had to swerve around my car. :) Sorry about that. But I gotta say… I’m really proud of these photos. Not just because the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world is in them, but because I was able to incorporate my photography style into them. Here are my favorites. Enjoy. :) -Kaylinn

My absolute favorite of the day.. and quite possibly my favorite photo I’ve ever taken of Annie. Annie, you are so beautiful! BTW: In case you’re wondering… yes, she picked a few blue bonnets. No, it’s not illegal. Yes, I know for sure. I promise. :) Don’t take my word for it, click here for the proof. :-)
